First, I would like to direct your attention to Cartel’s new website. Showing predominantly on the front page is a video, filmed by a friend of mine, and of which I am a part. I play a small roll in the video, and as all great motion pictures go, the final shot is the best, so stick around.
Second, there was the great ASU Ceramic Sale yesterday AND Tuesday, and that went very well. Many thanks to the rest of the fellows who lent a hand to make it all happen, with much less emphasis on those several artists who make my stuff look terrible in comparison. I will find out how much I made tonight, but I am confident I made at least seven dollars, which were promptly spent at Starbucks.
Woah wait, it’s Thursday? Holy Mole! I haven’t been making too much new art these days, lousy Art History. I believe I forgot to post how my last painting turned out. If not, here it is again:
I like how that one turned out a lot, but there are a few too many colors. Here is the one I’m doing now:
I like how this one is turning out, it’s surprisingly haunting for an all yellow painting. It is only 1/3 done (according to class time), so I have a while to develop it, but hopefully keep the emotion.
I’m trying to come up with a title. Current ideas are:
- A Portrait of Cheyenne Gray
- A Portrait of Dorian Cheyenne
- A Portrait of Doryenne Chey
Can you guys think of any?

Speaking of art, here’s a photo of me near my drawings at my senior show. I’ll try to get some more images of the show up soon, but for now I’m putting this up so I can tag more things.
Back to clay business, the sale starts at 9am tomorrow near the MU at ASU. There is supposed to be hoity-toity collectors and the like coming early, so try and come earlier!
My last post was eight days ago.
Sorry fellow followers. Maybe some drawings will make it better? By the way, I forgot to take a picture of my painting. It’s done, I suppose. I like it. It’s beautiful, you should see it.
Also, we are having a pottery sale on the 15th and 16th of this month, November. I will be in the pottery sale. Well, at the pottery sale, I will not be for sale. If there is a pot of mine you’ve been eyeing, it may just be at the sale. If it isn’t, there are plenty of other, more exquisite pots for sale. Trust me on this. It’s been advertized in the Republic newspaper, so get there as soon as you can because the good stuff won’t wait forever.
Alright, so here are a bunch of gestures from Tuesday AND Thursday.
And the long pose turned out alright.
My teacher suggested I try to make him feel as heavy as he looks, to make him sink into the paper of my drawing. So here’s my attempt.
I think it turned out pretty well, he looks heavy, wouldn’t you say? I also changed his right leg a bit, I simply drew his left leg again from another angle. He almost fits on the page this way! But he has two left feet, so all he can do is walk like an Egyptian.
